PRP for Healing Muscle, Ligament, and Joint Injuries

Platelet Rich Plasma is a simple medical procedure using your bodies innate healing ability. The procedure involves filling a small test tube with a sample of your blood. This is then spun in a centrifuge for around 15 minutes, thus separating the red platelets from a serum containing regenerative properties. This serum is then re-injected into your own body to treat a damaged joint or damaged tissue. By concentrating your bodies proteins and cells that are used to heal and repair, this creates a healing response from your body, treating an ailment without the use of prescription drugs or surgery.

Platelet Rich Plasma is used to heal injuries in joints, tendons, and other soft tissues. PRP can also be used in cosmetic procedures to rejuvenate the skin. PRP has also shown promise in helping speed up the recovery process after a fracture. It is an effective therapy for numerous other musculoskeletal issues, including:

The advantages of PRP include that PRP enhances your body’s own natural processes to repair and regenerate damaged tissue. By introducing high concentrations of collagen and other natural growth factors into an injured area, PRP therapy resolves the underlying condition rather than just treating the symptoms.
